Helping you confidently make positive and sustainable change in work & life

What is Coaching?

As you consider investing in coaching to feel more satisfied at work and in life, you’ll naturally have questions about how it works.

Will the coach actually be able to help? Absolutely!

Will it make a difference? Yes!

Coaching is about learning and making sustainable changes to achieve your career and life goals. It is a tailored process that examines existing behaviours and thinking patterns and enables you to experiment with new ones in order to develop more successful habits.

Each coaching session is a confidential and uninterrupted time with someone outside your world who can offer a safe space to bring up tricky topics and offer an alternative perspective.

Sometimes we are so deeply involved in our work and life challenges, we simply can’t see them clearly. This is where coaching helps in the most basic way. It’s an opportunity to talk through what is actually at the root of your challenge or decision, a place to experiment with your various choices. Your coach helps you see all the options available to you and can act as a sounding board off whom you can bounce ideas and possibilities that can transform how you operate.

I'll help you define career and life success by your own measures - not someone else's expectations.

Then guide you through the steps to make it reality.

REFRAME

“I worked with Claire as I was stuck in a rut in work and wanted to make a career change. I recommend her absolutely. She is so insightful and caring and went the extra mile for me.

She helped me reframe how I was thinking and helped me develop new habits that make me more effective and happier at work.

I’m starting a new job soon. I can’t thank you enough Claire!”

The Coaching Process

Discovery

We start with a complimentary 30 minute discovery call. You’ll give me an overview of what’s challenging you at the moment or you may have a very specific goal in mind.

Once you decide to go ahead with coaching, we’ll agree on the nuts and bolts - how often we’ll meet, online or in-person, coaching style, suitable times and other details.

I’ll send you a coaching intake form to get you reflecting.

Kick Off

In our first coaching session, we’ll deep dive into your working world and explore what would bring more fulfilment in your professional and personal life.

This could be changing roles, starting a new job with impact, returning to work after leave, building confidence or breaking a bad work habit.

Understanding your desired outcome is critical to ensure each coaching session is useful in getting you closer to your goals.

Talking

You’ll do most of the talking! I’ll ask most of the questions.

It’s my job to quickly get to grips with your world. To hear what’s being said and not said. To spot healthy and not-so-healthy patterns and occasionally reflect back insights and observations, so that you can learn and make changes.

Clients often find it quite liberating to talk through challenges with an informed, objective coach with deep professional experience.

Many people come to coaching as they have no one they can trust to talk openly and honestly, and loved ones are either too detached or too involved.

Learning

It’s important to remember it’s not your coach’s role to direct you or tell you what to do.

I will offer an insight or an anecdote if I feel it will help deepen your self-awareness. I will challenge and ask provoking questions when appropriate. And on occasion, we can move into mentoring, if applicable and with your permission.

However, in the main, it’s my role to draw out the strengths, passions and capabilities that already lie within you and help you keep accountable to putting them into action more often, with more positive effect.

Actions

The most important part of any coaching session. It’s lovely to have lovely conversations, but what will you do differently?

We’ll get specific on the actions you will carry out until the next session - what, when, where and how.

Then we’ll review the session and agree on what worked well, what could be improved and agree to next steps.

Enabling you to achieve a more fulfilling career and get some life back in your work-life balance
